What is an online timer?

A simple timer that lets you know when a set amount of time has passed. Use it for cooking, study sessions, rest between workout sets or keeping a talk on schedule. You can set up to 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds, and the time left also appears in the browser tab title so you can check it from another tab.

How to use

  1. Enter hours, minutes and seconds, or pick a quick preset.
  2. Press Start to begin the countdown. You can pause and resume at any time.
  3. When time is up, an alarm plays. Press Stop alarm to go back to the time you set.

Frequently asked questions

Does the timer stay accurate in a background tab?

Yes. The time left is calculated from when you pressed Start, so the timer ends on time and the alarm plays even while you are in another tab. On phones, the device may pause the page if the screen turns off or the browser goes to the background. In supported browsers, the screen is kept on while the timer runs.

Why can't I hear the alarm?

Check that "Play an alarm when time is up" is on, and check your device volume and silent mode. The alarm repeats for one minute and stops as soon as you press Stop alarm.

What happens if I refresh the page?

The timer runs only in your browser and is not saved anywhere, so refreshing or closing the page resets it.

What is the longest time I can set?

Up to 99 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Times over an hour are shown with hours, like 1:05:00.
