What is a date calculator?
Use it to find out how long a job, contract or project lasted, or which date is 90 days or 6 months from today. The time between two dates is shown in days, weeks, months and years, along with the number of weekdays excluding weekends.
How to use
- Choose "Time between dates" or "Add or subtract" at the top.
- For a duration, enter the start and end dates. To add or subtract, enter a date, an amount and a unit.
- Results update as you type. Turn on "Include the end date" if both the first and last day should count.
Frequently asked questions
When should I include the end date?
By default the count runs from the start date up to the day before the end date (the 1st to the 3rd = 2 days). Turn it on when both the first and last day count, such as workdays or a booking (the 1st to the 3rd = 3 days).
What is January 31 plus one month?
February has no 31st, so the result is the last day of February (the 28th or 29th). Month and year calculations always work this way.
Are public holidays excluded from weekdays?
No. Weekdays are Monday to Friday only. Public holidays vary by country and year, so they are not included.
What if the start date is after the end date?
The dates are swapped automatically and the duration is calculated the same way.
